When buying a new TFT monitor for your PC look at the brightness and contrast ratio figures. The higher these are, the clearer the picture. The response time is also important. It tells you how fast the pixels can change colour and is measured in milliseconds. A slower response time may give a ghosting effect. Now most monitors have a 5ms response time, whereas 16ms was common a few years ago. For the latest games a very fast response is needed.
